Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Robbie Krieger is final addition to Indiana State Fair lineup

Robbie Krieger, known for his work as guitarist in the Doors, will perform Aug. 18 at the Indiana State Fair.

The Indiana State Fair added classic-rock pedigree to its lineup today by unveiling Robbie Krieger as the 17th and final headliner for the Chevrolet Free Stage.

Krieger, guitarist in the Doors and a 1993 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, will perform Aug. 18. 

Admission to free stage performances is included with fair tickets purchased for $13 (or $8 in advance).

Krieger joins a lineup of 16 previously announced headlining attractions at the fair, scheduled Aug. 3-19. For more information, visit IndianaStateFair.com.

>> Aug. 3: Rick Springfield, whose local concert history includes a 2010 show at the Indiana State Fair Grandstand.

>> Aug. 4: Natalie Stovall, a vocalist-fiddle player named one of CMT's "Next Women of Country" in 2014. Cook & Belle and the Brett Wiscons Band will appear as supporting acts.

>> Aug. 5: Why Don't We, five singers younger than 20 who released a single titled "Trust Fund Baby" earlier this year.

>> Aug. 6: Anthony Hamilton, a 2009 Grammy Award winner for a collaboration with Al Green.

>> Aug. 7: Tyler Childers, a Kentucky native who issued an album titled "Purgatory" in 2017.

>> Aug. 8: Randy Houser, who landed at No. 3 on Billboard's country chart with 2013 single "Runnin' Out of Moonlight." Emerging country singer Nora Collins will perform as Houser's supporting act.

>> Aug. 9: Kool & the Gang, a group that broke through to funk success in the 1970s thanks to the songs "Jungle Boogie," "Spirit of the Boogie" and "Hollywood Swinging."

>> Aug. 10: Hanson, a sibling trio that sent "MMMBop" to No. 1 in the United States and 26 additional countries. 

>> Aug. 11: Warrant, a band that landed three songs on Billboard's Top 10 from 1989 to 1991. Fellow glam metal band Firehouse will perform as Warrant's supporting act. Dude and Rok Hollywood also will appear.

>> Aug. 12: For King & Country, an Australian duo featuring brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone. The fair's Contemporary Christian Music Festival also will feature Sarah Reeves, All the Astronauts and Jonathan Jackson.

>> Aug. 13: "Happy Together," a '60s pop revue featuring the Turtles, Chuck Negron (of Three Dog Night), Gary Puckett & the Union Gap, the Association, Mark Lindsay (of Paul Revere & the Raiders) and the Cowsills.

>> Aug. 14: Dirty Deeds USA: Xtreme AC/DC Tribute, a band that spans the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras of AC/DC. 

>> Aug. 15: Grand Funk Railroad, an act that tours with founding members Mel Schacher (bass) and Don Brewer (drums) 49 years after the band debuted. The Easthills will appear as the supporting act.

>> Aug. 16: Hunter Hayes, who collected the Country Music Association new artist of the year award in 2012.

>> Aug. 17: Here Come the Mummies, a funk-rock band that specializes in risque lyrics.

>> Aug. 18: Robbie Krieger, guitarist on enduring Doors hits "Light My Fire," "Love Her Madly," "Roadhouse Blues" and many more. Brandon Whyde and Os Gringos will appear as supporting acts.

>> Aug. 19: Kirk Franklin, who's won 12 Grammy Awards for his gospel-music recordings. This event is billed as the fair's Gospel Music Festival.
