Glasto detectives have added Robbie Williams to the list of rumoured surprises at this year's festival. The first 'secret set' of the weekend was unmasked this morning as Lorde, while Lewis Capaldi is also tipped to make an appearance, potentially in the yet-to-be-announced 4.55pm Pyramid Stage slot.

The five-day festival is filled with surprise sets across its various tents and stages, often being described as a festival made up of hundreds of other festivals. Lorde was confirmed as the first confidential act to be revealed with a special set on the Woodsies Stage following the release of her four studio album, Virgin.

Elsewhere, speculation that Lewis Capaldi is the mystery Pyramid Stage 'TBA' act has slowly built throughout the opening two days of the festival, but some now believe Robbie could also be a contender. Others say given his packed tour schedule, he might be brought out as a guest during another set.

A big hint was shared by Robbie himself, after he updated his profile picture on social media to an image of him at Glastonbury Festival 30 years ago.

The image, depicting a blonde Robbie, sporting a red Adidas jacket and a smile with a prominent gap in his teeth, was snapped during Glastonbury 1995 when the Rock DJ star arrived uninvited.

Posting on Instagram on Friday morning, the singer teased he was at this year's event by sharing an image of a blue plaque in the hospitality area reading: “1995. Robbie Williams entered this area without accreditation, authorisation, or alignment with prevailing taste. His presence was uninvited, unofficial and ultimately inevitable."

Another image of a 'Welcome to Glastonbury' sign from Glastonbury Festival 2025 was also posted. "He’s telling us something here," One wishful music lover replied on X, formerly known as Twitter, while others commented on Robbie's Instagram post.

"Either you're doing the secret set this afternoon or you're playing up to the hype it could be you," a fan replied.

"Next time, let us know some days in advance," another joked at the speculation. Other fans on Reddit were not so convinced, with one observing: "His tour schedule looks a bit packed though over those dates. Playing in Belgium on the Saturday and doesn’t look like he plays back to back gigs in different locations."

Robbie played in Germany on Wednesday and his next gig is in Belgium tomorrow night (Saturday), leaving only a small window of possibility. One Redditor predicted: "I would love it but he’s in the middle of a tour which would make it a logistical nightmare.

"I’m wondering if he will be someone’s guest? That way it’s someone else’s set up and musicians?"

The striking picture he posted, now set as Robbie's profile image, is central to the cover of his upcoming 'Britpop' album, due for autumn 2025 release. During his uninvited crusade of Glastonbury 1995, Robbie, who would go on to leave Take That a few weeks later and embark on a successful solo career, took part in numerous backstage interviews.

The now-51-year-old musician also played a part in British musical history, appearing backstage during a TV segment which featured Oasis band member, who Robbie would later feud with, Noel Gallagher performing the international hit 'Wonderwall' publicly for the first time.

The single would go on to sell more than 1.4million copies in the UK alone, and feature on the Manchester band's second album, 'What's The Story Morning Glory?' which would become one of the highest-selling UK albums of all time.
