The police have dismantled an international burglary ring suspected of at least 48 home invasions across the Grand Duchy since 2023, arresting five suspects in a coordinated cross-border operation this week.

Luxembourg authorities have apprehended members of an organised crime group believed to be responsible for at least 48 residential burglaries across the Grand Duchy between January 2023 and December 2024, causing approximately €700,000 in losses.

In a coordinated international operation spanning Tuesday and Wednesday, police arrested four individuals in north-east France under European arrest warrants issued by Luxembourg. A fifth suspect was apprehended in Luxembourg on Wednesday and will appear before an examining magistrate on Thursday morning.

The investigation, led by Luxembourg's judiciary with support from French and German authorities, involved multiple agencies including the Criminal Police, the Organised Crime Unit (RGB), Customs and Excise officers, and police canine teams. Authorities conducted simultaneous property searches in multiple countries as part of the ongoing inquiry.

The public prosecutor's office emphasised all suspects benefit from presumption of innocence while the investigation continues.
