President of Paraguay welcomes Dominican Senator Omar Fernández

Asunción, Paraguay.- Dominican Senator Omar Fernández led an official visit to Paraguay on Monday, where he met with President Santiago Peña to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing regional integration, and advancing a cooperation agenda between both countries.
During the meeting, Fernández emphasized the importance of Latin American unity in the face of global geopolitical challenges. He expressed shared values with President Peña regarding the defense of democracy, individual freedoms, and the promotion of sustainable development across the region. A key topic on the agenda was improving air connectivity, with both leaders agreeing on the need for direct flights between Paraguay and the Dominican Republic to boost investment and development opportunities.
Fernández also visited Paraguay’s Legislative Palace, where he met with Senator Antonio Barrios, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee. They explored legislative initiatives to attract foreign capital, particularly in the technology sector, through international guarantees aimed at enhancing productivity.
