Diamond Rio

WELLSVILLE – The county-pop band Diamond Rio will perform a summer appreciation concert at the American West Heritage Center here on Thursday, June 26.

Sponsored by Visionary Homes, the outdoor by-invitation-only event will begin with the gates opening at 5:30 p.m. and the concert starting at 7 p.m.

As a thank you gesture from the homebuilder, tickets for the event have been distributed to employees and elected officials of local municipalities and Cache County.

AWHC officials expect about 3,000 invited attendees at the June 26 event and emphasize that tickets are not available to the general public.

Diamond Rio is a six-member country music ensemble with its roots in Nashville, TN.

Originally known as the Grizzly River Boys and then the Tennessee River Boys, the band was founded in 1982. After several changes of membership, Diamond Rio has remained stable since 1989 and has performed almost continuously since then.

The band is known for its vocal harmonies, varied instrumentation and near-exclusive use of only its own band members on recordings instead of session musicians. Their sound was originally defined by mainstream country, bluegrass and rock influences, but later albums released by Diamond Rio drew more influence from Christian country music and country pop.

The opening act for Diamond Rio will be the county duo Wildwood.

Founded in 2004, Visionary Homes is a privately held homebuilder with the largest footprint of Utah builders from Logan to St. George. The homebuilder has thirty active communities that serve both first-time and second-time homebuyers.

The American West Heritage Center is located at 4025 South Highway 89-91 in Wellsville, at the foot of the Wellsville Mountains.
