Algeria, practically qualified for the World Cup

For its part, the Algerian national soccer team led by Bosnian coach Vladimir Petkovic, ranked 37th in the FIFA ranking, is preparing for the last four rounds of the African World Cup qualifiers and the African Cup of Nations in December. The Algerians have played six games in the year between qualifiers, African Nations Championship and international friendlies, recording five wins and one draw.

The Desert Warriors are practically qualified for the World Cup, as they are leaders of group G with 15 points, ahead of Mozambique with 12, Botswana and Uganda with 9, Guinea with 7 and Somalia with only one point.

Sweden, preparatory for the World Cup Qualifiers

The Swedish national soccer team led by Danish coach Jon Dahl Tomasson, ranked 28th in the FIFA ranking, come to this last friendly match in preparation for the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, coming from defeating the Hungarian national team as visitors in the first match of this FIFA double date. The Swedes have played three friendlies this year, with two wins against Northern Ireland and the most recent one against Hungary, and a narrow loss to Luxembourg.

The Den Svenska Muren will share Group B of the World Cup qualifiers with Switzerland, Slovenia and Kosovo, which will kick off on September 5.
