Longtime Kentucky assistant football coach is leaving Lexington to join Jeff Brohm’s staff at Louisville.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Marrow is in the process of finalizing a three-year deal with U of L. While Thamel says the deal is to take a job as Louisville’s general manager, I believe his official title on Floyd Street will be Director of Player Development/Personnel and Recruiting.
The fact that this isn’t an official coaching position is important when you consider that Marrow’s $1 million buyout at UK only comes into play if he leaves for a “coaching position at another school.”
It’s not exactly been the best kept secret in the world that Marrow has been looking for a way out of Lexington for the last year or so, and that landing a position on Brohm’s staff — a person he’s been close with for years — was something that both sides were interested in.
Now it’s happened.
And now I’ve lost my favorite bit on Twitter.
At long last, we finally discovered the job that was truly the one to finally pull the Big Dawg out of Lexington.
