WARRINGTON Music Festival was back with a bang over the weekend and celebrated the town’s finest musical talent.
The free, open air music event took place across Golden Square’s Old Market Place and Time Square.
The festival is organised by Steve Oates, from Score Creative, and Chris Persoglio from Culture Warrington together with Golden Square and began in 2007.
Nearly 30 emerging bands and artists were included in the line-up, including headliners Olivia Booth and Parlours.
Olivia, who is a 20-year-old singer from Appleton Thorne, is no stranger to the festival but was at the top of the bill for the first time, headlining Time Square.

“I’m very grateful. I’ve done it three years now. So, for me to be headlining – that’s been my goal to eventually get there,” she said ahead of the festival.
“Most of us, when we play on these stages, we see can just see what we could do in the future and how much we’ve grown from there.
“I think [Culture Warrington and Warrington Music Festival] supports local grassroots music so much and that’s really important. To see the town coming together for it, I feel very proud to be a part of it.”

Indie band Parlours took to the stage over in Golden Square and said it was ‘an honour’.
“It’s a real step up for us and to have the honour of headlining over other bands is a pleasure,” said Tom Gaskell, lead singer.
“As long as Warrington Music Festival asks us to do it, we will, because I think it’s absolutely brilliant to showcase all the local acts in the town.”
