'Denmark is very strong in condemning terrorism': Danish Ambassador to India

Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Danish Ambassador to India, noted that Denmark was among the first nations to denounce the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

"Denmark was among the first countries to not only express its sympathy and condolences to the Indian government and to the Indian people in the aftermath of the horrific terror attack that happened, but we were also very strong in condemning terrorism wherever it takes place, and this has been a consistent Danish line, so we have made that very clear to the Indian government. We have also made it very clear at the UN Security Council, where we are currently a non-permanent member," he said.

Beijing tight-lipped on performance of Chinese weapons by Pakistan in India conflict

A Chinese defence ministry spokesperson, Zhang Xiaogang, refused to provide any details on the effectiveness of Pakistan's weapons during the recent military confrontation with India, sidestepping direct answers and instead urging both sides to remain calm, Global Times reported.

This comes amid reports of India recovering an unexploded PL-15E missile, a Chinese-made beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang emphasised China's hope that both sides will remain calm and restrained to avoid further complicating the situation.

When asked for the ministry's comment on the performance of Chinese equipment in the recent India-Pakistan conflict, and on the remarks by Indian military officials that "Pakistan received support from China's air defense and satellite systems, but the performance of these systems was below average," Zhang said, "We would like to stress that India and Pakistan are neighbours that cannot be moved. We hope both sides will remain calm and restrained to avoid further complicating the situation."

Amit Shah arrives in Jammu amid tight security

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived here on Friday evening amid tight security arrangements on a two-day visit to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and reach out to shelling-hit affected people in Poonch, officials said.
This is Shah's first visit to the Union Territory post Operation Sindoor, they said.

Shah will during his stay in the Jammu region also visit religious places, meet shelling-hit people and the BSF personnel in the district, which recorded the highest number of 14 civilian deaths among the total 28 lives lost in the indiscriminate Pakistani shelling and drone attacks during the skirmishes between May 7 and 10, officials said.

Soon after his arrival in Jammu, Shah was received by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the airport and drove straight to the Raj Bhawan.

Shah will chair a high-level security review meeting at the Raj Bhawan late tonight. Besides the lieutenant governor, senior officials of the army, paramilitary forces, police, intelligence agencies and civil administration will be attending the one-and-a-half hours meeting, they said.

Apart from discussion on the security situation and ongoing anti-terrorist operations, he will be reviewing the security and administrative measures concerning the Amarnath Yatra beginning from July 3.

'Operation Sindoor' not over yet, we have hit Pakistan thrice inside its home: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said 'Operation Sindoor' was far from over and warned that India would continue to exact a heavy price on those who sponsor terrorism, asserting that Pakistan has already been hit "three times inside its home."

While addressing his first rally in West Bengal since the launch of ‘Operation Sindoor’ earlier this month, the PM invoked the region’s deep cultural and emotional connection with ‘sindoor’, referring to the traditional ritual of ‘Sindoor Khela’ observed by Bengali women during Durga Puja.

"Now that I am standing on the sacred land of 'Sindoor Khela', it is only right that we speak about a new resolve against terrorism 'Operation Sindoor'," Modi said to loud cheers.

He added, "On April 22, the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam shook the nation. The pain and anger felt across West Bengal were deeply understood. I could feel your outrage. The terrorists dared to wipe off 'sindoor' from the foreheads of our sisters. But our brave soldiers made them realise the power of that sindoor'."

"From this land of Bengal, I, on behalf of 140 crore Indians, declare that 'Operation Sindoor' is not over yet," Modi said.

"There was a lot of anger in West Bengal, too, after the barbarity committed by terrorists in Pahalgam. I understood very well the anger and rage that was within you. The terrorists dared to wipe away the 'sindoor' of our sisters. Our army made them realise the power of 'sindoor'," he reiterated.

Asserting India's zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, Modi said, "After the Pahalgam attack, India has told the world that if there is a terrorist attack on India, the enemy will have to pay a heavy price for it. Pakistan should understand that we have entered your house and killed you three times."

While the Prime Minister did not spell out the details of the three instances, his remarks are being widely interpreted as a reference to the 2016 surgical strikes following the Uri terror attack, the 2019 Balakot air strikes after the Pulwama bombing, and the recent cross-border strikes as part of 'Operation Sindoor'.

"We destroyed cross-border terror infrastructure, which Pakistan had never thought of. We have hit Pakistan thrice inside their homes," he said.

In a direct rebuke to Islamabad's military establishment, the Prime Minister accused Pakistan of institutionalising terrorism.

"Terrorism and mass murder are the biggest expertise of the Pakistani army, because whenever there is an open war, they face defeat," he added.

The Prime Minister also invoked historical wounds, linking Pakistan's legacy of terrorism to the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.

"Ever since it came into existence, Pakistan has only nurtured terror. It has carried out terrorist attacks on India ever since Partition in 1947. After a few years, the terror it spread in our neighbourhood — present-day Bangladesh (then East Pakistan) — is also unforgettable," Modi said.

"No one can forget the way the Pakistan Army committed rapes and murders in East Pakistan (present day Bangladesh) and the terror it had unleashed there," he added.

Modi concluded with a stern warning, saying India would relentlessly pursue terrorists across the border and ensure that enemies of peace face the consequences.

"Pakistan, the country that nurtures terrorism, has nothing positive to offer to the world. Since its very inception, it has been a breeding ground for terror and violence. But India has changed. We no longer tolerate such cowardly acts. And Operation Sindoor is our firm answer," he declared.

"Pakistan must be put back on FATF grey list", says Asaduddin Owaisi in Riyadh

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi, who is part of the all-party delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, said that Pakistan should be put back on the FATF grey list to curb the funding of terrorist groups.

He claimed that terrorist organisations are being trained in Pakistan and are trying to create unrest in India.

Owaisi also pointed to a photo showing a US-designated terrorist sitting next to Pakistan's army chief, saying it shows clear links to terrorism.

Speaking at the interaction in Riyadh, Owaisi said, "...Pakistan must be brought back to the FATF grey list. That is where we will be able to control this terror financing of all these terrorist organisations. When this person (Asim Munir) was made a Field Marshal in Pakistan, a US-designated terrorist called Mohammad Ehsan was sitting right beside the Field Marshal. There are photographs of him shaking hands with this field marshal. There is clear evidence of Pakistan's involvement. These terror groups are prospering over there, they are being trained over there, and the whole task is to destabilise India to create more Hindu Muslim riots in India."

He further added that Indian investigators had given all the evidence to Pakistan after the Mumbai attacks, but no progress was made until global pressure forced action.

They were curious to know why our relations with Pakistan are deteriorating, says Rajya Sabha MP Manan Kumar Mishra

After concluding their visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Group 4 delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, en route to Sierra Leone, stopped over in Lome, Togo. During the transit, they held discussions on Pakistan-based terrorism and Operation Sindoor at the airport lounge.

"We are telling them why we had to conduct Operation Sindoor and about Pakistan's terrorism. But it is a good experience to know about the people of Africa, their culture, and language. They are good people and this is a really good experience. The conversations we had with their diplomats, heads of states, and ministers regarding Pakistan, they heard us with concentration. They had come prepared on the subject matter. They were curious to know why our relations with Pakistan are deteriorating, they knew that Pakistan is a terrorist country but when we made things clear, they heard us well. India Pakistan News LIVE updates: India will no longer differentiate between state and non-state terrorism, says DMK MP Kanimozhi

DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, who is leading an all-party delegation to Greece, said on Wednesday that India has taken a strong stand against terrorism, treating both state-sponsored and individual acts the same.

Speaking to the Indian community in Greece, she said the inclusion of opposition MPs in the government’s outreach shows a united approach to fight cross-border terrorism.

“Our Prime Minister and the Government of India have made a decision to reach out to countries. In our delegation, except Capt Brijesh Chowta, all of us are from the opposition parties. Our Prime Minister and the country have clearly stated that we will no longer differentiate between state-sponsored terrorism and terrorist activities of individuals and groups. India has suffered enough, and the time has come to say no more,” Kanimozhi said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday described Operation Sindoor as a strong and united response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, calling it “a befitting reply to those who unleashed terror in India.”

Speaking virtually at the 50th anniversary celebrations of Sikkim’s statehood, the Prime Minister said the country stood united in its fight against terrorism. “What terrorists did in Pahalgam was an attack on humanity, and we are now united in the fight against terrorism,” he said.

Modi had planned to attend the golden jubilee function in Gangtok but was unable to travel due to poor weather. He addressed the gathering at Paljor Stadium from Bagdogra in West Bengal via video link.

“Sikkim is the pride of the nation. Its people are deeply rooted in democratic values,” he said, adding that the state has also made major strides in organic farming and biodiversity conservation.

Highlighting the government’s push for connectivity, PM Modi pointed to the Sevoke-Rangpo railway project as a crucial link between Sikkim and the national rail network. “Connectivity is a priority for our government, and this project will bring Sikkim even closer to the rest of India,” he said.

The Prime Minister also emphasised the Centre’s vision to make India a global sports powerhouse. “We want the Northeast, including Sikkim, to lead the way.
