Kneecap have released a new single, The Recap.
The collaboration with drum and bass artist Mozey continues the Belfast hip hop trio's tradition of blending Irish and English lyrics with biting political commentary.
Propelled by drum and bass beats, the track takes aim at Tory party leader Kemi Badenoch, who has been working to silence Kneecap following political remarks made during their past concerts. Group member Mo Chara was also recently charged with a terror offence for allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag during a performance in London last November.
Kneecap performed at Wide Awake festival in London last Friday (May 23), following a surprise 100 Club gig in the city the night before, where Chara appeared with tape over his mouth. During the performance, he claimed that the charges are designed to prevent him from addressing a large audience at Glastonbury Festival, where Kneecap are scheduled to perform next month.
A "bootleg" version of The Recap is currently streaming on Soundcloud. It marks Kneecap's first new material of 2025, following the release of their second album, 2024's 'Fine Art', and the subsequent semi-biopic film starring Michael Fassbender.
Kneecap are also set to headline 2000trees and Green Man festival this summer, as well as three nights at Plymouth Depo in place of a cancelled Eden Project show. They'll play their biggest North American headline shows to date during a fall tour, before wrapping up the year with two nights at Dublin's 3Arena in December. Tickets are on sale now.
