Serbian tennis legend clinched the 100th title of his illustrious career on Saturday with his triumph at the Geneva Open.

The 38-year-old Djokovic clawed his way back from a set down to win 5-7, 7-6 (7/2), 7-6 (7/2) against Hubert Hurkacz in the championship fixture in Switzerland.

    Nole, as he is fondly known, will take the momentum from his accomplishment into the French Open in his endeavour for a record 25th Grand Slam title.

    Djokovic, who ended his quest for the elusive title at Geneva, had earlier succumbed to defeats in the previous events in the ongoing clay swing as he went down to Alejandro Tabilo at the Monte Carlo and Matteo Arnaldi at the Madrid Masters.

    “I had to work for it, that’s for sure. He was probably closer to the victory the entire match than me," Djokovic said following his victory.

    It was Djokovic’s first event since he parted ways with former rival-turned-coach Andy Murray as the Serb also became the first man to win title in twenty years on the bounce with his crowning moment in Switzerland.

      “I was just trying to hang in there, this is what happens at this level. A few points decide it, an incredible match and I’m delighted to clinch the 100 here," the champion added.

      Djokovic got the better of Marton Fucsovics, Arnaldi, and Cameroon Norrie en route to the final against Hurkacz, as he completed his march towards a century of tour level titles.
