ZANE. FROM WHAT YOU WERE SAYING EARLIER, WITH THE DRIER AND WARMER LATER NEXT WEEK, THIS IS A GOOD MOVE. LOOKS MORE LIKELY. YEAH, IT LOOKS MORE FAVORABLE BY LATE NEXT WEEK. YOU’RE TELLING ME YOU DIDN’T WANT TO JUMP IN A POOL TODAY? NO, NO. ZANE COOL. NO. I’M GOOD. I HAVE A 12 YEAR OLD AT HOME, THOUGH. WHO WOULD LOVE THAT? I MEAN, YES, YES, WE ALL KNOW SOME PEOPLE WHO WOULD, EVEN THOUGH IT MAYBE WOULDN’T BE IN THEIR BEST INTEREST WEATHER WISE. YES, WE HAVE STRUGGLED A LITTLE BIT TEMPERATURE WISE TO GET INTO THE SUMMER MODE THAT YOU OFTEN SEE BY THIS POINT IN MAY. IT’S JUST NOT HAPPENING QUITE YET. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE MORE OF THIS COOLER WEATHER. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A FEW MORE RAIN SHOWERS AS WELL IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. A FEW MORE SHOWERS AND TEMPERATURES PERSISTENTLY BELOW NORMAL. SEVERAL MORE DAYS. ACTUALLY, WE’RE GOING TO KEEP OUR TEMPERATURES BELOW NORMAL. THAT’S WHAT YOU’LL SEE HERE OVER THE COMING WEEK. EVERY DAY, BASICALLY THROUGH NEXT FRIDAY WILL BE AT OR BELOW THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES AT THIS POINT USUALLY TOP OUT MID 70S TOWARDS THE LAST WEEK OF MAY. WE’RE GOING TO BE WELL BELOW THAT UNTIL BASICALLY A WEEK FROM NOW. DO THE MATH. THAT’S GOING TO TRANSLATE TO A LOT OF DAYS IN THE 60S HERE AS WE GO THROUGH THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND BEYOND, WE’VE HAD A LITTLE BIT OF WHIPLASH HERE SO FAR THIS MONTH. WE STARTED OFF MAY WITH QUITE A BIT OF HEAT, ACTUALLY A LOT TO 80 HERE IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE MONTH. AND THEN THIS PAST WEEK IT’S BEEN A LOT COOLER, A LITTLE BIT GRAYER, WET AT TIMES. AND THEN THE LAST WEEK OF MAY IS ALSO SIMILARLY GOING TO BE GENERALLY ON THE COOLER SIDE. OVERALL, SO FAR THIS MONTH, WE’RE JUST A HAIR ABOVE THE NORM. WHEN YOU CRUNCH ALL THE NUMBERS TOGETHER. TOMORROW, WARMEST PARTS OF THE STATE ARE GOING TO BE IN NORTHERN IOWA. WE’LL SEE TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 70S, MORE LIKE 60S AS YOU HEAD FROM I-80 SOUTHWARD. AND THAT’S GOING TO BE MAINLY A DIFFERENCE IN CLOUD COVER AND SOME RAINFALL. WE MENTIONED EARLIER, THERE ARE A FEW SHOWERS DRIFTING ALONG HIGHWAY 34 TOWARD FROM ADAMS UNION, AND NOW PROBABLY SOON INTO CLARK COUNTIES. MORE WIDESPREAD SHOWER ACTIVITY IS SCATTERED ABOUT ACROSS PARTS OF NEBRASKA. SOME OF THAT WILL DRIFT INTO WESTERN AND THEN SORT OF SOUTHERN IOWA. HERE AS WE HEAD INTO TONIGHT, EVEN IF YOU DON’T SEE SOME RAINFALL, YOU’RE PROBABLY GOING TO HAVE PERSISTENT CLOUD COVER HERE WHILE YOU SLEEP. SO A FEW SHOWERS SORT OF MEANDER AWAY THROUGH SOUTHERN IOWA INTO EARLY TOMORROW MORNING HERE. SUNRISE AS WE GO THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS, PROBABLY SEE A LITTLE BIT MORE RAINFALL DOWN THIS DIRECTION. BEDFORD DOWN NEAR LAMONI AND ELSEWHERE TOWARDS THE MISSOURI BORDER THROUGH MAYBE MIDDAY. NOTICE AT THIS POINT WE’RE STARTING TO SEE MORE CLEARING SKIES THOUGH, AS YOU HEAD ACROSS NORTHERN IOWA. THAT’S WHY WARMER THE FARTHER NORTH YOU GO. TOMORROW PROBABLY WILL GET MORE LIKELY. CLEAR FASTER IN THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE STATE TOMORROW NIGHT. CLEAR FOR MOST FOLKS. AND THEN AS WE HEAD INTO MEMORIAL DAY, WE START TO INCREASE THE CLOUD COVER ONCE AGAIN. THIS IS OUR NEXT SHOT AT SOME RAINFALL NOTICE HERE STILL IN THE MORNING, EASTERN IOWA CLEAR, BUT CLOUDS STARTING TO WORK IN FROM THE WEST. CLOUDS INCREASE, BUT EVEN BY LUNCHTIME AND INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON, MOST OF US ARE STILL DRY. SO ALL THE EVENTS, YOU KNOW, SERVICES AND THAT SORT OF THING THAT GO ON ON MEMORIAL DAY MORNING ARE STILL OKAY. BUT BY THE AFTERNOON WE’RE STARTING TO BRING IN SOME SHOWER ACTIVITY. NOT HEAVY, BUT SOME SORT OF NUISANCE SHOWERS INTO THE AFTERNOON HOURS AND EVENING OF YOUR MEMORIAL DAY. AND THEY’LL STILL BE SOME RAIN THROUGH TUESDAY INTO PARTS OF MAYBE WEDNESDAY, BUT MAINLY TUESDAY TOO. NOT GOING TO BE HEAVY. NOTICE MOST OF THE MAP IS GREEN THROUGH THE MIDDLE PART OF NEXT WEEK. GENERALLY SPEAKING, HALF AN INCH OR LESS WHEN ALL THESE DAYS THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK ARE ADDED UP. SO THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE MAJOR GULLY WASHER SOAKING SORT OF RAINFALL. WE STAY MAINLY COOL. THEN THROUGH MOST OF NEXT WEEK. RAINFALL. BEST CHANCE ON MEMORIAL DAY AND TUESDAY AND THEN DRI
