Weekend Weather Forecast

Met Eireann's weekend weather forecast is in and warns of heavy rain and cooler temperatures on the way.

Last week we saw temperatures reach the mid 20s with week long sunshine, but the weather has taken a u-turn recently with cooler temperatures falling to around 14 degrees and heavy rain on the way.

On Friday May 23 the morning will start dry with sunny spells and patches of mist and fog.

Outbreaks of rain or drizzle will spread eastwards across the country on this day.

There will be mist and hill fog too with highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees, mildest in the east and south, in a light to moderate south to southwest wind.

On Saturday 24th May the day will start off cloudy with patchy light rain, mist and fog.

A spell of more persistent and heavier rain will extend across the country from the southwest through the afternoon and will be followed by scattered showers, some heavy.

It will become increasingly breezy, with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds developing. Humid with highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees, according to Met Eireann.
