TWO successful bands are set to perform at a Colchester festival this summer.
Reef and The Hoosiers will headline the Sausage and Cider Festival in Lower Castle Park on July 12.
Glastonbury rock band Reef was formed in 1993 and is comprised of vocalist Gary Stringer and bassist Jack Bessant, alongside newer members Luke Bullen on drums and Amy Newton on guitar.
Big hits include Place Your Hands, Naked, Consideration, and the group have earned three top ten UK albums.
Formed in 2003 by Irwin Sparkes and Alan Sharland, The Hoosiers’s debut record The Trick To Life charted at the number one spot in the UK official album charts in 2007.
Well-known songs include Goodbye Mr A, Worried About Ray, and Cops and Robbers.
Other acts for the lineup include comedians Harry Enfield and Kathy Burke who will appear as ‘Kevin and Perry’ for a DJ set, media personality 'Big John' will make an appearance, and EastEnders actor Shaun Williamson will perform ‘Barrioke’.
There will also be tributes dedicated to performing the songs of Queen, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Sam Fender, Gerry Cinnamon, and Oasis at the festival.
This year’s Sausage and Cider Festival will take place from 2pm until 10.30pm.
General admission tickets cost £35 and a booking fee.
