read moreNorthern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC) has recently secured multiple wins at the renowned international Eventex Awards 2025, bringing home three Gold and one Silver.
Founded in 2009, the Eventex Awards, judged by a panel of experts from across the world, recognise creativity, innovation and effectiveness in the events industry.
NTMEC received Gold in the coveted Event Team category, celebrating the organisation’s professionalism, innovation, and excellence in event delivery.
The internationally acclaimed Parrtjima – A Festival in Light, delivered by NTMEC and guided by curator Rhoda Roberts, in partnership with events destination company We Are Gather and creative directors Grumpy Sailor, is held annually in Alice Springs and secured two Gold Awards in the Cultural Event and Australian/Oceanian Event categories, along with a Silver for Cross-channel Storytelling.
With a record 1,239 entries from 59 countries across six continents, this year’s Eventex Awards were highly competitive – making NTMEC’s success all the more significant.

NTMEC’s portfolio of events includes Parrtjima – A Festival in Light, Million Dollar Fish, BASSINTHEGRASS music festival, betr Darwin Triple Crown Supercars, Territory Day, Alice Springs Masters Games and the MXGP of Australia.
NTMEC’s events not only improve the liveability of the Northern Territory but also draw people from around the world to experience incredible events and immerse themselves in the unique cultures and landscapes of the Northern Territory.
Parrtjima 2024 lit up the Red Centre with 21,363 attendances and delivered an impressive $12.22 million boost to the Northern Territory economy, including $9.42 million flowing directly into Alice Springs. The 10-night festival generated 23,486 visitor nights in Alice Springs and nearly 30,000 across the Territory, reinforcing its status as a major tourism driver.
The 2024 event also broke new ground in audience experience, recording its highest-ever satisfaction rate - a remarkable 92% of attendees left satisfied, with a significant jump in top-tier ratings of nine and above.
