Incubus, another main stage band at Daytona’s Welcome to Rockville, is facing apparent medical-related issues, according to posts on social media.

The band on Friday announced that it would cancel its scheduled weekend performance at Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival, a four-day heavy-metal festival unfolding through the weekend at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Incubus singer Brandon Boyd performs with the band in 2023. Due to illness, Incubus has canceled a weekend show at the Sonic Temple music festival in Ohio. No word yet on how that might affect the band's scheduled appearance at Daytona's Welcome to Rockville.

“Due to an illness in the band, we regret to announce that we’re unable to perform at Sonic Temple this weekend,” the band stated on social media. “We apologize to those attending the festival and to anyone traveling in to see us, but as we focus on making sure everyone is healthy, we appreciate your understanding as this was not an easy decision to make. Stay safe this weekend and hope to see you all very soon.”

There’s no word yet on whether the band still will be able to appear at Welcome to Rockville, where the band is scheduled in a main stage slot on Saturday on the festival’s Apex Stage.

In all, Welcome to Rockville will host more than 150 bands on five outdoor stages over four days, May 15-18, on the infield at Daytona International Speedway. Daily headliners on the festival’s five stages are Shinedown, Linkin Park, Green Day and Korn.

If Incubus were to cancel its Rockville appearance, it would be the third highly anticipated main stage act to be scratched off the bill.

Why did Alice in Chains cancel their tour?

Metal grunge/'90s metal legends Alice in Chains canceled the band’s summer tour, including its Friday night main stage show at Rockville, according to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

That announcement came after the band canceled its concert at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut at the last minute Thursday night because drummer Sean Kinney experienced a medical emergency.

"After careful consideration and following the advice of medical professionals, we have made the decision to cancel our upcoming festival performances and the Alice in Chains headline shows," the post reads. "While we were all eager to return to the stage, Sean's health is our top priority at this moment. Although the issue requires immediate attention, his long-term prognosis is positive."

Why did 3 Doors Down cancel their tour?

The Alice in Chains news unfolded just days after 3 Doors Down canceled its opening night show at Daytona's Rockville as well as its entire summer tour after lead singer Brad Arnold announced he had Stage 4 kidney cancer.

The Pretty Reckless will replace 3 Doors Down on the festival lineup. By early Saturday, there was no news on a replacement for Alice in Chains from Los Angeles-based festival promoter Danny Wimmer Presents.

“Get well soon, wishing Sean and the Alice In Chains family the best,” stated a post on the festival’s official Facebook page. “We’ll have more updates soon.”
