Glastonbury Festival veterans have shared crucial advice for newcomers ahead of this year's event – urging them to start taking a specific action to prepare themselves. With headliners such as The 1975, Olivia Rodrigo, and Neil Young set to perform, seasoned festival-goers claim this action will ensure a more enjoyable experience at Worthy Farm.

One piece of advice posted on the r/GlastonburyFestival subreddit has received a lot of attention. It reads: "Start stretching your hamstrings now! If you get increasing pain in your lower back towards the end of the festival (like I did, as did a few others in our group) I learned a likely reason for this is because hamstrings are too tight - with the amount of walking and dancing at Glastonbury, this can throw off pelvic alignment and strain lower back. Hip mobility, hamstring stretches and strengthening your core/ glutes will help ease this suffering."

Many forum users echoed this advice, stressing the importance of exercising and walking daily in the lead-up to the festival.

One user shared: "Yeah me and my girlfriend have started walking everyday after work to try get ourselves in festival order."

Another added: "Start stretching everything. Glastonbury is an endurance challenge."

These seasoned attendees insist that preparation is key to surviving and enjoying the demanding Somerset weekend without over-exerting yourself.

A third individual commented: "Another specific stretch that massively helped with my hip mobility and hamstrings were hip flexor stretches, my physio suggested them and have massively improved my back pain since doing them."

Festival-bound individuals expressed gratitude for the helpful tips, indicating they would integrate the stretches into their preparations for the event.

One person responded: "Thanks, I will certainly try it. I get a sore lower back when standing in one place for too long. That might be why."

Yet another advised: "It might be your hamstrings, but it can also be one of your glute muscles or your hip flexors. Hip mobility stretching/Yoga in addition to hamstring would be the best to do."

Past attendees of the festival highlighted that they routinely covered distances ranging between 10 and 15 miles each day.

Someone else mentioned that at the previous year's Glasto, they had accumulated enough steps to amount to "just over three marathons".

Anyone experiencing discomfort at Glastonbury Festival could find solace in the Healing Fields, where yoga sessions were readily available.

An attendee remarked: "I can definitely relate to this. It's also worth pointing out that they'll be yoga on the healing fields too. At my age, this is a must!"
