GREEN BAY, Wis. (WMTV) - It is a milestone year for the Green Bay charity softball game as they get set for the 25th edition, coming our way on May 23. The game was started by Brett Favre way back in the day and is now led by Jordan Love as they hit the quarter century mark.

On Wednesday, Love met with the media to preview the annual charity game, which will benefit his Hands of 10ve foundation.

It is also the first time we’ve heard from Love since general manager Brian Gutekunst selected not just one, but two wide receivers in the top 100 picks of this year’s draft.

Matthew Golden was the first receiver picked in the first round by the Packers since 2002 and third rounder Savion Williams.

“Yeah, I’ve talked to them [the rookie receivers,]” Love said. “They were actually doing rookie minicamp this last weekend and we weren’t here for that. I briefly shot those guys a text after they got drafted, just congratulating them. Telling them we’re ready to get for work. I think next week once they get back in the building with us. We’ll have some more communication and see what those guys are all about, but I’m excited to get to work with them.”
