LOVE OF CLASSICAL MUSIC
Speaking to artistic director Patrick Rafter, a Kilkenny man and celebrated as one of Ireland’s finest classical musicians, it is clear he aims to spread a love of classical music in his home city.

On Sunday, May 11, Patrick Rafter will conduct the 80 person strong Irish Doctors Orchestra in an incredible concert featuring an breathtaking programme of movie themes alongside Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. Star Wars, Wicked, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the iconic Schindler’s List theme that Patrick will perform from the violin.

On Friday, May 16, Barry Douglas will perform the incredible Mussorkgsky’s ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ — a work that earned him first Prize Gold Medal at the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow.
Douglas will be joined by Rafter for the sensational and epic Cesar Franck Sonata for violin and piano.
