A FAMILY music festival is set to be the first event held at a new outdoor live events venue.

The St Helens Gala Fest will be the first event held at The Halo on Saturday, August 30.

The new outdoor live events venue will be located around the footprint of the Totally Wicked Stadium site, home of Saints.

The event is in partnership with St Helens RFC, with the Steve Prescott Foundation presenting a family fun day featuring six of the top tribute acts in the UK.

Tribute acts

These include It’s Not Sabrina (as Sabrina Carpenter), Vikki Earle (as Taylor Swift), Laid (as James), The SouthMartins (as the Housemartins), Viva La Vida (as Coldplay), and Definitely Oasis (as Oasis), as well as local DJ Eric McKenna.

Sponsored by Bespoke Funding Solutions Ltd, event-goers can also explore charity and craft stalls, enjoy attractions from Silcocks Funfair, meet AJ Mascots characters, and enjoy festival food and drinks.

Tickets are available for the day which will feature eight hours of entertainment.

A St Helens RFC spokesperson said: "We are delighted to announce the first event to be held at the Halo, to take place later this summer.

"We have a strong and long-running relationship with the Steve Prescott Foundation and the Gala Fest was the ideal starting point to launch the Halo, for what we hope will be the first of many great events at the venue."

The Steve Prescott Foundation said: "This landmark event marks a significant moment for the foundation, as we become the first organisation to host an experience at The Halo.

"It is particularly poignant that this celebration will be held at the former club of our founder, the late Steve Prescott MBE.
