Vancouver Folk Music Festival unveils 2025 lineup

Vancouver’s favourite seaside music celebration is back, and the 2025 edition is set to be one of its most dynamic yet. From July 18 to 20, the Vancouver Folk Music Festival takes over ʔəy̓alməxʷ Jericho Beach Park for a weekend of eclectic performances, community energy, and summer sunshine.

Now in its 48th year, the Festival continues to be a cultural mainstay for visitors and locals alike. Whether you’re there to discover new global sounds, hear Canadian favourites or simply sway under the sunset, VFMF 2025 promises music without borders.

“The 2025 Festival lineup reflects the diverse communities we serve and the powerful stories that music can tell across cultures and continents,” shares VFMF Artistic Director Fiona Black, in a release. “In a world that sometimes feels like it is being pulled apart, there's comfort in knowing that we'll again be gathering to feel the positive power of music and community, and their ability to change us all for the better.”

This year’s lineup features a wide spectrum of sound—from the genre-defying cello compositions of Cris Derksen (ON), to the high-energy fusion of Les Mamans du Congo x Rrobin (Congo/France) and the psychedelic North African grooves of Bab L’ Bluz (Morocco/France). Fans of indie folk can look forward to the heartfelt harmonies of Ocie Elliott (BC), while those drawn to traditional roots will find favourites in Ye Vagabonds (Ireland) and The Langan Band (Scotland).

The Festival also features artisan markets, interactive artist workshops, family zones, and global food vendors, all set against the city’s most scenic backdrop.
