Rising WNBA star Caitlin Clark and basketball legend Michael Jordan recently found common ground beyond the hardwood — on the golf course. During a special appearance at the 2025 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Clark shared her admiration for the sport and her awe of Jordan’s legendary golf stories.
In an interview with Kira K. Dixon on Under the Umbrellas, the Indiana Fever standout expressed her amazement, saying, “I know MJ is really competitive with it. The stories about MJ are crazy. He would go play 18, then show up to the game and drop 35. I could never do that. That’s a different breed.”
Jordan’s well-known passion for golf matches his competitive spirit. Even during his playing days, he often squeezed in rounds of golf before dominating on the basketball court. After retiring, he devoted more time to golf and, in 2019, partnered with Bobby Weed Golf Design to open The Grove XXIII, an ultra-exclusive course in Hobe Sound, Florida, named after his iconic jersey number.
The course, formerly known as The Medalist, underwent a significant revamp in 2017. Jordan personally oversaw the transformation, which reportedly cost around $20 million, according to Nichols Architects. Now based in Jupiter, Florida, and having sold his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets in 2023, Jordan has even more time to enjoy life on the green.
Caitlin Clark, meanwhile, has also embraced golf. She made her competitive debut at The Annika in November and continues to play during her offseason while focusing on preparing for her second WNBA season with the Fever.

Caitlin Clark ’s rising stardom has also earned her invitations to elite events like The Masters. This year, Clark joined fellow sports icons such as Peyton Manning, A’ja Wilson, Allisha Gray, Grant Hill, David Lee, and JR Smith at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club.
She also mingled with an array of stars from other sports and entertainment, including Ken Griffey Jr., Caroline Wozniacki, Eli Manning, JJ Watt, Matt Ryan, Michael Strahan, Niall Horan, Joe Jonas, and Noah Kahan.
From basketball courts to the fairways, Caitlin Clark is proving she belongs among the greats — both in skill and in the company she keeps.

Steelers have a potential star who is seriously flying under the radar
The Pittsburgh Steelers have not been shy about their draft approaches in recent years. Since Omar Khan took over as the head of the front office, he and his partner-in-crime, Andy Weidl, have focused on building the trenches. The 2023 and 2024 offseasons saw the team's first-round picks be offensive linemen, while the organization selected defensive lineman Derrick Harmon with the 21st overall pick in 2025. The franchise is sending a clear message regarding what kind of team it wants to put on the field. The hope is that these early-round investments can stay healthy and perform at a high level. The Steelers traded up for Broderick Jones in 2023, but he has yet to get a consistent shot at his natural position over at left tackle. That is expected to occur in 2025, which will be a crucial season for the former first-rounder. On the opposite side of him will be Troy Fautanu, who had his rookie campaign end extremely early in 2024 due to an unfortunate knee injury. A formidable offensive line will make Pittsburgh's offensive approach much easier to execute. The unit wants to run the ball all over defenses while utilizing a strategic play-action pass scheme. Both Jones and Fautanu stepping up in 2025 will be a very important piece of this. Team insider Mark Kaboly noted on a recent mailbag on X that he believes Fautanu is healthy and ready to go. He also mentioned that the lineman will be a key contributor. "When I talked to him at the end of the year, he said he’s fine and ready to go," Kaboly wrote. "He’s going to be a huge addition to this team this year. Mark my words on that." Another fan chimed in to ask the reporter who he thinks will be the impact player that no one is expecting. Kaboly went further than just talking about the upcoming season, and went out on a limb to say Fautanu will be an important offensive piece for a long time. "Fautanu," Kaboly noted. "Guy is going to be a star for a decade, and that will start this year." This is a very positive thing to get updated on by an individual who is around the team often. Fautanu's season-ending knee injury during his first professional season was unfortunate, but it's comforting to know that he is still expected to have elite skill. The Steelers could very well be set up on the bookends for a long time if Jones can come around on the left side. With all of the quarterback uncertainty going on in the Steel City, establishing a rushing attack will be vital in 2025 and beyond. That doesn't change the fact that offenses in the NFL are required to throw quite often. Protecting the quarterback while also having the ability to seal off the outside in the running game will be the main focus for both Fautanu and Jones. Pittsburgh has invested in the offensive line in recent years, which is why it is exciting to think about Fautanu being a franchise cornerstone for a long time. It doesn't hurt that his 2024 NFL Draft counterparts in Zach Frazier and Mason McCormick also seem to have very promising skill sets. Steelers' Jones has more pressure than Fautanu While Fautanu is expected to slide right into the starting right tackle spot, he will be given a little grace because he does not have much professional experience under his belt. Jones, on the other hand, could have his fifth-year option declined in the 2026 offseason if he performs poorly in 2025. Both need to excel if the team wants to start to dominate the line of scrimmage, but fans and the coaching staff will be giving much less leeway to Jones as the season kicks off in September.
Timberwolves use their size to eliminate Lakers in Game 5
Anthony Edwards went 0-for-11 from three-point range, the Minnesota Timberwolves missed 40 threes and Jaden McDaniels fouled out in 18 minutes. But after another impressive fourth quarter, they eliminated the Los Angeles Lakers anyway. Rudy Gobert had a massive game, scoring 27 points, grabbing 24 rebounds and blocking two shots. It was a validating game for the French center who has often been a playoff scapegoat, but dominated the paint Wednesday night in a game where his Timberwolves shot 7-for-47 from three-point range and 40.4 percent overall. It helped that rookie head coach JJ Redick made more questionable decisions. His team got crushed by Gobert, got out-rebounded, 54-37 and saw the Wolves shoot 69 percent on two-pointers, yet Redick stuck with small ball lineups throughout. The exception was five minutes for Maxi Kleber, who hadn't played since January, when he was still a member of the Dallas Mavericks. The Lakers played the Timberwolves tight all the same, limiting their shooting if not their rebounding. LeBron James and Luka Doncic got McDaniels to foul out in just 18 minutes. On a night where he was visibly bothered by a sore back, Doncic had 28 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, with only two turnovers. James finished with 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists. He only made one three, but it was a huge one, cutting the Lakers' deficit to two points with three minutes to go. Edwards had a rough shooting night but compensated in other ways. The Lakers often sent two defenders at Edwards, and he usually made the right pass, finishing with eight assists and zero turnovers. Edwards shot 5-of-19, but hustled his way to 15 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, not daunted by his shooting frustrations. But perhaps due to their lack of depth, the youth of the Timberwolves or the simple fact that James is 40 years old (and Redick didn't sub in the second half of game 4), Minnesota closed out every fourth quarter stronger than Los Angeles. In Game 5, the Wolves outscored the Lakers, 22-16. In Game 4, it was 32-19. In Game 3, 30-20. For the series as a whole, Minnesota outscored the Lakers 127-85 in the fourth quarter. In the other three quarters, it was 417-410, in favor of the Lakers. The Timberwolves were just more clutch, or the Lakers were simply more fatigued. The Lakers will have all summer to rest as they figure out their future around Doncic (who can sign an extension this summer) and James, who has a player option but does not seem inclined to leave. A first-round exit was the most likely outcome for the Lakers before the Doncic trade, but adding a second superstar raised expectations. They won't get a chance to meet those for another year.
Cardinals coach makes big claim about Marvin Harrison Jr. after disappointing rookie season
Arizona Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort raised some eyebrows this past winter when he suggested that some fans and observers had "unrealistic expectations" for wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. almost immediately after Arizona made Harrison the fourth overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. During a Wednesday appearance on SiriusXM's Mad Dog Sports Radio, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon shared why he's confident Harrison will match or even exceed expectations hovering over him coming off somewhat of a disappointing rookie season. "When the staff is in place, the jump from Year 1 to Year 2, I think that's where guys make a huge jump," Gannon explained, per Kevin Patra of the NFL's website. "This guy played unbelievable ball for us, but if you talk to him, he'd be the first to tell you, like, 'I need to get better at these couple things,' and, man, he went to work on them. He went to work on them. He looks awesome out there right now. I'm really excited to see where his game goes." Per Pro Football Reference, Harrison finished the 2024 campaign fifth among rookies with 62 receptions and 885 receiving yards. While he was tied for second among first-year pros with eight receiving touchdowns, he finished outside the top 10 in Offensive Rookie of the Year Award voting. Somewhat interestingly, Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray revealed earlier this spring that he tweaked his surgically-repaired knee in Arizona's Week 1 game versus the Buffalo Bills this past September. One can only wonder how, if at all, that impacted Harrison's production throughout the season. Meanwhile, Gannon noted how Harrison seemingly started thinking about his sophomore campaign back in January. "The guy's a ready-made pro," Gannon added. "He does all the right things. He was here the whole offseason. He skipped out one week. He went and trained with a bunch of different receivers, but he was here the whole offseason. I think he added a little bit of muscle mass. He looks a little bit bigger. All his numbers, his metrics, are all better than when we got him." As of the first day of May, DraftKings Sportsbook listed Harrison as a +5000 betting underdog to claim the Offensive Player of the Year Award for the 2025 season. It sounds like Gannon thinks bettors may want to take a flier on Harrison earning that honor before outsiders get to see the 22-year-old in action during training camp practices.
Eagles make key decision on pass protector acquired from Texans
The Philadelphia Eagles may have won Super Bowl 59 just a couple of months ago, but you wouldn’t be able to tell based on the amount of work they have done this offseason. Led by general manager Howie Roseman, the Eagles front office has been quite busy over the past few weeks, swinging moves left and right. One move they made saw them trade for offensive lineman Kenyon Green from the Houston Texans, and they recently made a big decision on his contract status. The Texans selected Green with the No. 15 overall pick of the 2022 NFL draft, but he never truly panned out for them, due in large part to a shoulder injury that forced the talented lineman to miss the entire 2023 season. The Eagles opted to take a flier on Green, but they aren’t completely sold on him just yet, as the team turned down the fifth-year option in his rookie contract, meaning he could hit free agency after the 2025 campaign. “The Eagles are declining Green’s option, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on May 1. The Texans, who took Green in the 2022 draft, traded the offensive lineman to Philadelphia on March 11,” NFL.com wrote on Thursday morning. Eagles hoping Kenyon Green can become key piece of offensive line When he’s been healthy, Green has shown flashes of becoming the player the Texans envisioned him becoming when they picked him in the first round of the draft three years ago. The Eagles have had success when it comes to developing offensive linemen, and they are hoping Green will become their latest success story. However, with so many question marks regarding his status, Philadelphia isn’t going to commit a massive figure to Green for the 2026 campaign when he could struggle this upcoming year. That essentially makes the upcoming season a one-year trial for Green and the Eagles, so if he wants to stick in town, he’s going to have to immediately make the most of the opportunity he currently finds himself with on his new squad.
