Major UK supermarket closing 580 stores for one day this month
Asda has announced its opening hours over Easter weekend
Asda will be shutting most of its stores for one day later this month, the supermarket has revealed.
The supermarket will be closing for Easter. The Easter weekend brings two Bank Holidays: Good Friday on April 18 and Easter Monday on April 21.
In the UK, Easter Sunday is considered a public holiday, similar to Christmas Day.

Under trading regulations, larger shops exceeding 280 sq meters are required to close on this day.
Asda has confirmed that all its larger superstores will remain closed on Easter Sunday.
However, its smaller convenience stores - Asda Express - will continue to operate over the Bank Holiday weekend.
In total, Asda boasts 580 larger supermarkets and approximately 500 convenience stores nationwide.
Asda Express stores often stay open 24 hours, and this schedule will persist in the run-up to, and throughout, the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
On Good Friday, Asda stores in England and Wales will be open from 7am to 7pm. On Easter Saturday, April 19, Asda will operate its usual hours, opening between 6am and 8am and closing at 10pm.
While some Asda stores typically have later opening times, all will shut their doors at 10pm on Easter Saturday.
Following a closure on Easter Sunday, Asda will resume operations on Easter Monday, opening at 7am and closing at 7pm. Asda branches in Northern Ireland will also remain closed on Easter Sunday, but will be open from 7am to 10pm on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, and Easter Monday.
It's worth noting that Scottish stores are permitted to stay open on Easter Sunday and the bank holidays, operating under their regular trading hours.
