'Heads Carolina' country music artist Cole Swindell returning to Canton Civic Center

CANTON − Award-winning country music artist Cole Swindell will return to Stark County this summer on a tour promoting his new album.

Swindell will perform Sept. 5 at the Canton Memorial Civic Center on the "Happy Hour Sad Tour." Openers are Priscilla Block and Logan Crosby.

This follows Swindell's sold-out concert at the Civic Center in October 2023. Presented by Pepper Entertainment, the "Happy Hour Sad Tour" is named after a new song on his upcoming fifth album.

Swindell releasing new album, 'Spanish Moss,' in June

Swindell's new album, "Spanish Moss" will be released June 27. A few songs already have been released digitally from the record, including the title track, "Forever To Me" and "One Day."

In addition to announcing new music, Swindell, 41, also made news recently because the country music star and his wife are expecting their first baby. He'll also be performing May 3 at the IHeart Country Music Festival in Austin, Texas.

In 2015, Swindell won the New Artist of the Year award from the Academy of Country Music.

'She Had Me at Heads Carolina' was smash hit

Swindell had multiple No. 1 hit songs on the country charts, including, "She Had Me At Heads Carolina," which was the Academy of Country Music's Single and Song of the Year in 2023. The song is an ode to Jo Dee Messina's 1996 hit, "Heads Carolina, Tails California." Swindell and Messina performed his song in 2022 at the Country Music Association Awards.

Others popular songs include "Chillin 'It," "Ain't Worth the Whiskey," "You Should Be Here," "Drinkaby," "Love You Too Late," "Never Say Never," featuring Lainey Wilson, and "Single Saturday Night."

The Georgia native has released four albums, beginning with his 2014 debut, followed by "All of It" in 2018 and "Stereotype Broken" in 2022.

How much do tickets cost and when do they go on sale?

Presale tickets through the "Down Home Crew" fan club go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday. General public tickets, starting at $39.50 plus fees, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at https://www.ticketmaster.com.

Tickets also will be available at the Civic Center box office at 1101 Market Ave. N in downtown Canton from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
