A new market stall serving award-winning Indian food has opened in Newport.
Keralan Karavan, based at Newport Market, offers a modern twist on Indian flavours including unique dishes like the Raj Burger, Doolally Dawg, and Disco Fries.
The stall is run by Krish, who was born in India and has lived in the UK with his British partner for more than two decades.
He has always enjoyed bringing the two different food cultures together, which is how Keralan Karavan was born.

Keralan Karavan's unique food has been applauded and awarded the Welsh Street Food Champions 2021, People's Choice Award 2021, and the Best Street Food Wales 2024.
The stall offers a variety of dishes with a British twist, including the Bombay Tikka Taco, the Raj Burger, the Doolally Dawg, and the Disco Fries.
Krish hopes to use the stall to bring Indian and British cuisine together (Image: Keralan Karavan) Krish said: "These unique flavours we then give a bit of British twist to it and create dishes like the Best sandwich awarded Bombay Tikka Taco, a tribute to the British Raj in India -The Raj Burger or the Doolally Dawg inspired by the deep rooted Indian history of the British slang 'going doolally', and a special mention to the crowd favourite Disco Fries which has its own cult following."
Keralan Karavan offers a range of experiences from street food, music festivals, corporate events, kitchen takeovers, to a sit-down eight-course "Bollywood Supperclub" dinners.
Krish and his love for Indian and British cuisine are now available at Newport Market (Image: Keralan Karavan) The new stall in Newport Market is set to bring all these experiences to the town.
Krish said: "We are so grateful for the amazing welcome, the love, and support we have had the past week here and really looking forward to bringing the fun vibrancy and flavour fiestas of Keralan Karavan and maybe also some Bollywood Supper Clubs here to come at our new home at the Newport Market."
