A POPULAR London jazz-funk band is set to perform in Worcester.
The Boom Yeh will appear at The Marr's Bar on Thursday, April 10.
This is part of the monthly performance programme by Worcester promoter Music Spoken Here, which has extended this to the second and fourth Thursday of every month.
All six shows this year have been fully packed.
The Boom Yeh, who have played at Ronnie Scott’s, the EFG London Jazz Festival, and Manchester Jazz Festival, are known for their high-level musicianship and electrifying performances.
They will be performing in the city for the first time since the release of their third album, Near-Earth Objects, last year.
The band will be led by guitarist Jon Speedy, and will feature bass player Matteo Grassi, drummer William Francis, and sax player Ian Bailey.
They will be joined by Dave Sear on trombone and Thomas Kleyn on baritone sax for the performance.
Darren Arthurs, from Jazz Review, described the band’s music as "toe-tapping, percussive-heavy instrumental music with the emphasis on getting you on the dance floor".
Admission is free for Music Spoken Here Club members, with a suggested contribution of £10-15 for non-members.
The suggested contribution is not mandatory, however, and people can pay what they can afford.
