Jesy Nelson celebrated the U.K’s Mother’s Day with some happy news — the emergency surgery she recently went through for her complicated twin pregnancy was a success.

The Little Mix singer, 33, announced earlier this year that she and rapper boyfriend Zion Foster are expecting identical twins — but later shared the scary news that the unborn babies were “living off one placenta,” a high-risk condition known as pre-stage TTTS (twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome).

Nelson poignantly chose Sunday, March 30 — Mothering Sunday in her native U.K. — to share a positive update from the hospital. “We just wanted to give you guys an update, as we know it’s been a while,” she said via an Instagram video post. “I don’t know if you can see, but we are still in hospital, I’ve been recovering, but we have some amazing news. The TTTS has cleared up; the operation was a success, which is just absolutely incredible. We are so, so lucky to have the most amazing doctors.”

Despite the positive news, Nelson still needs to remain in the hospital to be closely monitored since her due date is still a way off.

“Basically, the situation we’re in now is my cervix is very, very short, so I can’t leave the hospital because my waters could break at any point and I’m still very, very early,” she said while cradling her pregnant belly under her seahorse-print striped pajamas. “I can’t leave the hospital until I’m a certain amount of weeks, so every week we’re just like, ‘Please, please, please, stay in there!’”

Foster, 26, added: “One week at a time, but we’re in such a blessed position to even be able to make this video.”

Foster also revealed that he has now signed up to run the London Marathon at the end of April to raise money for the Twins Trust. “We spoke with them and we heard so much about the amazing work that they do for twins, for families of twins, for midwives, and they literally save lives,” he said. “With Jess going through what she’s going through, as much as I’m going through it too, I feel like I’m not really carrying the babies … this was my way of saying, ‘I’m gonna throw myself in the deep end!’”

Previously, a tearful Nelson said that the couple, who have been dating for more than three years, were “hoping and praying for the best.” She shared, “We feel so blessed that we’ve been given twins. It’s just really sad, unfortunately, it does come with these complications we had no idea about.
