KOCO SHELBY MONTGOMERY JOINS US NOW IN STUDIO THIS MORNING WITH A BREAKDOWN OF ELECTION DAY. GOOD MORNING. THE MAYORAL RACE IN EDMOND IS THE RESULT OF A RUNOFF ELECTION FROM FEBRUARY, WHERE THE CANDIDATES WERE ONLY SEPARATED BY 45 VOTES. MARK NASH RECEIVED 34.89% OF VOTES. TOM ROBBINS 34.25%. KOCO SPOKE TO BOTH RUNOFF CANDIDATES BEFORE ELECTION NIGHT. WE DO KNOW ROBBINS IS A FORMER CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, AND NASH HAS LIVED IN EDMOND AND HAS A FINANCIAL BACKGROUND. ALSO ON THE BALLOT, THE SEAT FOR OKLAHOMA COUNTY COMMISSIONER REP JASON LOWE, FACING OFF AGAINST INDEPENDENT JED GREEN, WHO IS WITH THE GROUP OKLAHOMANS FOR RESPONSIBLE CANNABIS ACTION. OKLAHOMA CITY RESIDENTS ALSO VOTING FOR WARD SEVEN CITY COUNCIL SEATS AND VOTERS ACROSS THE STATE MAKING SCHOOL BOARD DECISIONS. Mark Nash garnered the most votes with 2,447 (accounting for 34.9% of the vote), and Tom Robins received 2,402 votes (34.2%). "My record is one that I fight on behalf of our Edmond residents," Robins said in February. "Whether that's voting against raising water rates, and I want to make Edmond, Oklahoma, the best place to call home." "As someone that is a process-improvement person that looks for how you become more efficient, that looks for how to reduce costs, the fact I've got the government finance background in me, none of my opponents have that," Nash said. The Edmond mayoral race is a runoff from the February election in which the top two candidates were separated by 45 votes. Mark Nash garnered the most votes with 2,447 (accounting for 34.9% of the vote), and Tom Robins received 2,402 votes (34.2%).
