The Zutons Share New Single Popcorn Ahead Of Headline UK Tour

The Zutons have shared a new song, Popcorn.
A dose of soulful, acoustic balladry, the reflective track marks the first new music from the Liverpool indie band since the release of 2024's 'The Big Decider', their first album together in over 16 years. Lead singer and guitarist Dave McCabe said:
"The song just fell out really. I wrote it in about 15 minutes! I didn’t really know what I was writing about or was even thinking about, but then when I played it to the band it made me realise that it’s just me asking my wife to take me the pictures. I used to go a lot and I could relax in there, I think it’s something about the darkness and the way you don’t know what time of day it is, you’re just on 'cinema time' and you can forget all your woes and escape."
The group, who recently received a Northern Music Award for Best Band, will kick off a spring UK tour with a performance in Leeds on Thursday (April 3), before shows in Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham, Cardiff, London, Wolverhampton and Liverpool.
They'll support Richard Ashcroft at the former Verve frontman's Nocturne Live show at Blenheim Palace in June. They'll also play a number of summer festivals, including Wychwood in Cheltenham, Gone Wild in Exeter, and Portsmouth's Victorious Festival. Tickets are on sale now.
