Road closures planned for Springtime Tallahassee festivities Friday and Saturday
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The 57th annual Springtime Tallahassee Festival kicks off Friday evening, and with the festivities come road closures. Below is a list of planned traffic closures.
Friday closures
Duval Street and Madison Street northbound will be blocked at 5:30 a.m. as a stage is constructed for the Music Festival on Kleman Plaza. The parking garages will still be accessible to state employees.
One lane will open for westbound traffic on West Pensacola and Duval from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.. Afterwards, officials said westbound traffic would be closed on the roadways until 4 a.m. Saturday.
At 9 a.m., Adams Street and Jefferson westbound will close, but access to the capitol complex gate will still be allowed through.
Franklin Boulevard will close from Tennessee Street to Lafayette Street from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and then re-open for traffic diversion from Apalachee Pkwy.

Springtime 5K and 10K, parade closures on Saturday
The following roads will close at 6:30 a.m. to accommodate the parade float staging area and will reopen after the parade:
- North Monroe St at 7th Avenue - Southbound traffic will be blocked completely to Brevard Street
- Brevard Street/Adams Street - No eastbound traffic
- Brevard Street/Calhoun Street - No westbound traffic
- 3rd Avenue/Adams Street - No eastbound traffic
- 4th Avenue/Adams Street - No eastbound traffic
- 3rd Avenue/Thomasville Road - No westbound traffic
- 5th Avenue/Thomasville Rd - No westbound traffic
- North Monroe/6th Avenue - No southbound traffic, eastbound allowed
- 5th Avenue/Adams Street - No eastbound traffic
The following roads will close at 9:15 a.m. to accommodate the parade route and will reopen after the parade:
- Monroe Street at Georgia/Carolina/Virginia Streets will be closed for no east or west-bound traffic
- Monroe St from W. Tennessee to Gaines St will be closed for all traffic, including the cross streets of Monroe St from Tennessee St to Gaines St
- Tennessee Street will be closed from Calhoun Street to Adams Street - No traffic in either direction
- Apalachee Parkway/Franklin Avenue - No westbound traffic
The following roads will close at 6:30 a.m. and remain closed until 6 p.m.:
- Duval Street from Pensacola Street to Park Avenue
- Park Avenue, east and west, from Duval Street to Monroe Street
- College Avenue from Duval Street to Monroe Street
- Jefferson Street from Adams Street to Monroe Street
