The Music has asked a group of women in the music industry to give a shoutout to another female or GNC worker - here are just some of the names you need to know.

One Of One, the Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and empowering female and GNC workers in the music industry, is returning this month with a 10-year anniversary tour of breakfast events across the country.
In collaboration with One Of One, and in celebration of the upcoming run of events (where female and GNC music industry workers will have the opportunity to network and reconnect, experience a star-studded array of keynote speeches and performances, and of course, will do so alongside a fully catered breakfast), The Music has asked some friends across the industry to highlight a fellow fem or GNC worker in the industry who they feel deserves a huge shoutout, and why.
Taking a moment to spotlight Fiona Peacock from ON THE MAP PR. Fi is a shining light, she oozes joy and positivity, has the best work ethic and is one of the most experienced and thorough publicists with over twenty years of experience and media relationships under her belt.
She truly is the best of the best, she comes in to work with the biggest smile every day, and her passion for music and our artists is infectious, she always goes the extra mile to ensure her artists get maximum coverage for their projects and it’s inspiring to watch on for, she is respected, loved and appreciated by all who know her, and especially by me!
We’ve worked alongside each other in major label land and now at On The Map for 20 years - so it’s fair to say she’s a work wifey for lifey, and I still learn from her on the daily. Fi is the queen of PR, the queen of music, and we’ve been so lucky to have her on the team for 12 years and as a friend in our lives for even longer. WE LOVE FI!!

Mardi Caught is an incredible champion for independent and emerging artists in this country and someone I respect so much as a business owner, Woman, Mother and fellow fangirl in the Music Industry and is someone who I can have real conversations with about those things.
Mardi and the team at The Annex have been a part of almost every Australian album campaign that has managed to crack the charts over the last few years and are often under recognised for the work that they do so I just wanted to take a moment to say I see you and I love you!

I’d like to give a big shoutout to García, who is the Founder and Managing Director of García Entertainment, a consultancy dedicated to keeping Latin culture alive in Australia.
García’s immense passion and sense of purpose is absolutely infectious and one of her qualities that I find most inspiring is her courage. Not only does it take courage and determination to maintain her own business, but even in the face of harsh adversity, García stays true to herself and stands up for what she believes in, in efforts to make the industry better for the future.
In the past, she has advocated for gender non-conforming people despite difficult circumstances, and she also encourages inclusivity through her actions. For example, Women in Music Australia events now have quiet spaces for anyone feeling overwhelmed, thanks to García’s suggestion.
In an industry that can be easy to “lose yourself” in, I find great strength, empowerment and reassurance when speaking with people like García and she is a constant reminder of the importance of being authentic and living your values. The industry would benefit greatly if there were more people like her!

Anika Luna - Triple J / Unearthed
I really appreciate Anika's enthusiasm and unwavering support of Australian music. She brings a brightness to her work on radio that I clocked back when she was still working at SYN in Melbourne - back then I remembered thinking that if she was able to bring that same spirit to larger audiences, they (the audience) and the scene would benefit greatly. And now she's part of the Triple J Unearthed team, a perfect fit!
I think sometimes it is easy to feel desensitised when you've been part of the industry for so long, but when people like Anika share their perspectives on the music and artists that excite her, it reminds me why we love working in this space.
