COUNTRY music fans are in for a treat as yet another festival is announced for Priory Park, cementing its place as the go-to spot for big events in Southend.

Summer in Nashville will arrive at the park in June, offering a day of live music, tribute performances and food stalls.

It joins a jam-packed calendar of events at the park this year, including the return of the Sausage and Cider Festival, the Ibiza Orchestra Experience, Lazydays Festival and Oktoberfest.

“We’re excited to welcome the Summer in Nashville country music festival to the park’s growing line-up,” said Matt Dent, Labour and Co-op councillor for culture, tourism and business.

“It’s another great event for residents to enjoy and will attract visitors from further afield, boosting our local economy.

“Priory Park is fast becoming one of Southend’s top festival and event venues, and 2025 is shaping up to be a fantastic year.”

Summer in Nashville will take place at Priory Park on Sunday June 22, with a line-up featuring top UK country band, One Night In Nashville, alongside Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton and Shania Twain tribute acts.

According to Visit Southend, the day festival will also include activities such as line dancing, American street food, axe throwing and rodeo bull rides.

“Priory Park will also host the Sausage and Cider Festival, The Ibiza Orchestra Experience, and the hugely popular Lazydays music and craft drinks festival, with this year’s event headlined by Example, Embrace, and Peter Doherty,” added Mr Dent.

“It’s a massive vote of confidence in both Southend and Priory Park that so many organisers want to hold their events here.”

The release of the line-up for Lazydays’ second iteration at the park prompted excitement from residents and councillors when it was released in January.

Its organisers hope to build on the success of last year’s event to significantly expand the festival’s capacity and implement feedback from a survey of more than 200 previous attendees.
