Nickelback will headline a day-long concert event at the iconic “Field of Dreams” movie site as part of the Velocity Music Festival.

The popular Canadian rock band will play at the film site of Kevin Costner’s 1989 baseball classic, “Field of Dreams” on August 31 in Dyersville, Iowa alongside Brantley Gilbert and more artists that have yet to be announced.

Fans can shop for tickets online using reliable third-party ticket sellers like StubHub and VividSeats. As of Tuesday, March 25, the cheapest tickets are general admission at $110 on StubHub and $191 on VividSeats.

  • *New customers who purchase tickets through VividSeats can get $20 off a $200+ ticket order by using the promo code MassLive20 at checkout.*

The concert is a special, one-night-only show that serves as the first-ever edition of Velocity, a new multi-city music festival that is set to fully kick off in 2026.

For those who haven’t seen the film, “Field of Dreams” follows Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) and his quest to transform his farm into a baseball diamond after being told by a mysterious voice “If you build it, he will come.” The ghosts of great players then emerge from the crops to play ball, led by “Shoeless” Joe Jackson. Ray learns that this field of dreams is about much more than bringing former baseball greats out to play.

For the filming of the movie, the studio built an actual diamond in an Iowa cornfield, and the site has since served as the setting for numerous events and baseball games — even hosting seasonal games with The Ghost Players and two special MLB games.

Nickelback’s show follows Country legend Tim McGraw who will play on the field the day before on August 30. That show will mark the first major concert held at the site making Nickelback’s the second.

Nickelback was formed in 1995 led by lead guitarist and lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, rhythm guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, and bassist Mike Kroeger. The band went through several drummer changes between 1995 and 2005 before Daniel Adair joined.

The band has been one of the most made fun of bands, but for someone who has always loved Nickelback and seen them live, I don’t fully understand it. They are an awesome band and incredible live.

They’re known for their breakthrough 2002 single, “How You Remind Me,” and 2005 singles “Photograph”, “Far Away”, and “Rockstar.”

Fans who can’t make this special concert can still catch Nickelback on their other tour dates listed below:
