Another country is ready for Eurovision 2025 in Basel, as the event in May draws closer. This year, Serbia has made its decision — Princ will represent the country with his emotional ballad, “Mila.”

Pesma za Euroviziju was incredibly unpredictable this year, with 16 outstanding entries competing for the top spot. The race for the winner kept us on the edge of our seats until the very last moment. The jury awarded its maximum of 12 points to Vukayla, who, despite this recognition, didn’t gather enough public votes to claim victory. On the other hand, Bojana and David received the most public votes, but their hopes were dashed by receiving 0 points from the jury. In the end, Princ achieved a balanced score from both the jury and the public, securing his well-deserved win.

Serbia has won Eurovision only once, in 2007 — the country’s first year participating as an independent nation. That year, Marija Šerifović competed with the song “Molitva.”

Serbia at Eurovision 2025: 10 Facts about Princ

1. He is from Vranje

Stefan Zdravković was born in Vranje on September 29, 1993. In 2002, he moved to Belgrade. His stage name is now Princ (meaning ‘Prince’ in Serbian), but he is also known as Prince or Princ od Vranja (Prince of Vranje).

2. He is a karate champion

Music is not the only thing Princ excels at — he is also a national champion and vice-champion. He competed as part of Serbia’s national team.

3. Princ had a rock band in high school

Princ realized in high school that he wanted to become a singer. At 15, while still a high school student, he and his friends formed a rock band called Šesta žica (Sixth String).

4. He studied Norwegian

Not many people know that Princ is also a philologist. He studied Norwegian language and culture at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, graduating from the Department of Scandinavian Languages.

5. He was the lead vocalist of a band

Before launching his solo career, Princ was already known in Serbia as the guitarist and one of the vocalists of the Serbian experimental band Sizip.

6. Jesus Christ Superstar

In 2020, Princ joined a new project, being selected as a lead character in the renowned rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. The Serbian version was played at the Cultural Center of Studentski Grad, in Belgrade (an urban neighborhood of Belgrade).

7. He took part in many international festivals

Princ’s music has already reached audiences worldwide. The Serbian artist has participated in numerous music festivals across countries such as Bulgaria, Lithuania, Italy, Malta, Kazakhstan, and Spain. He has won several awards at international festivals, including the Malta International Contest (winner in 2020), Belgrade Spring, and The Pearl of the Adriatic in Tivat, Montenegro (winner in 2024).

8. He competed in “The Voice” Bulgaria

Princ is a former contestant on The Voice — not in Serbia, but in Bulgaria. He participated in 2021 and reached the semi-finals. His achievement was remarkable, as he ranked in the top 12 out of 4,000 contestants.

9. He previously participated in PZE

If Princ seems familiar to you, it’s probably because you’ve seen him before in Serbia’s national selection, Pesma za Evroviziju (PZE). He was initially set to debut in the contest in 2022, but shortly after being announced, he withdrew due to a conflict with the songwriter of his entry “Ljubi svog čoveka,” Leontina Vukomanović. Following his withdrawal, the song was renamed and performed by Tijana Dapčević that year. However, Princ made his comeback in 2023 with “Cvet sa Istoka.” He finished as the runner-up, winning the public vote.

10. He knows how to play various instruments

Given his history of playing in various bands, it’s no surprise that Princ is skilled in multiple instruments. He is both a talented guitarist and an excellent drummer.

Come back for more exciting stories and facts about Princ as national final season continues and we head towards pre-parties and Basel 2025 itself.

A sweet bottom who sings about simplified love to avoid family issues rooted in a traditional world. Mila is exploited, used, trampled upon… obviously, a non qualification is necessary.

I really don’t understand why he’s supposed to fail at this year’s contest. In my opinion, Serbia should qualify pretty easily…
