There are weather warnings for much of Wales this weekend which definitely means it's not going to be much fun outdoors.

And even though many events due to take place on Saturday, August 10have been cancelled the weekend doesn't have to be a complete washout.

Here are some brilliant indoor events you can go to across Wales, some of them are free, too...

1. Madagascar the Musical, Cardiff

Based on the smash-hit DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar The Musical follows Alex, Marty and all their Central Park Zoo mates as they escape for a brand new adventure.

2. Brecon Jazz Festival

The 36th edition of the wonderful jazz fest is here and many of the gigs are indoors.

Day passes for Saturday are sold out but there are still some left for Sunday. And, of course, there are individual gigs where you can pay on the door.

3. Marvel Avengers STATION, cardiff

The exhibition will allow guests to step inside the popular films and become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whether trying to lift Thor’s Hammer or taking a sneak peek at Bruce Banner’s Lab.

S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is an acronym for Science Training and Tactical Intelligence Operative Network, and as part of their training fans will get the opportunity to interact with props and costumes straight from the big screen.

4. Science Pirates, Cardiff

Join Cardiff Uni's 'Science Pirates' who are aiming to bring the ins and outs of biology with an escape room adventure.

5. Superbugs! Cardiff

More stuff for your cool little science geeks...

You will be able to enter the microbial world; discover the bacteria that live in, on, and around us; see how we treat infections that make you ill; and learn how the bacteria are fighting back against us!

You can create your own microbes and there's a microscope station.

6. Aberaron Beer & Cider Festival

The festival, at the local yacht club, is still going ahead as there's plenty of indoor space as well as a marquee.

With free entry and live music, plus lots of beers, ciders and perries to try.

7. Swansea Summer Record Fair

If hanging around rows and rows of LPs and 45" is your bag then get on down to Swansea this weekend.

Rock, electronic, punk and loads of genres are on offer from 12noon to 4.30pm.

8. DEPOT Fanhub: Wales V England, Cardiff

Cheer on Wales in the first of the summer friendlies ahead of the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Think pitchers and streetfood. And lots of shouting.

9. Solarsphere, Builth Wells

A family-friendly astronomical music festival - yes, you read that right.

There are loads of talks about the cosmos, fun, kid-friendly activities and live music, too. Day tickets are available and under-12s go free.

10. Summer Garden Party, Swansea

Don't worry, Swansea Waterfront Museum's GRAFT Summer Garden Party WILL still go ahead in inclement weather, but inside the museum.

There'll be mini beasts, circus skills, storytime and loads more.

11. Venom, Cardiff

This reptile-handling family day is one for you if you love animals.

Part of the Snakes! exhibition, the museum's scientists will also be on hand to tell those interested more about the snakes on show.
