HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 7 (ACN) Under the slogan United for the Patria Grande, Honduras began on Sunday to welcome the dignitaries who will participate in the upcoming 9th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac).
Scheduled for next Wednesday, the meeting will be held at the Central Bank of Honduras building in Tegucigalpa, after the meetings programmed for tomorrow and Tuesday of national coordinators and foreign ministers of the 33 member countries of the main continental coordination mechanism, Prensa Latina.
On X, the Secretariat (Ministry) of Foreign Affairs of the Central American country, on behalf of President Xiomara Castro, began to publish a series of messages of welcome to the ten heads of state and government who will attend the important event.
In the case of Cuba, the Honduran executive highlighted the bilateral cooperation agreements in health and education, with the renowned literacy program Yo, Si puedo (Yes, I can), as well as the projected opening of commercial flights between both countries.
The deputy foreign minister for foreign policy and coordinator of the Summit, Gerardo Torres, agreed that the summit represents a historic milestone for his country, which for the first time is hosting a meeting of this magnitude.
